It may be early in the New Year but we are very excited to announce that the 7th Annual Art Show and Sale presented by Scotiabank will be taking place in Edmonton very soon!
Each year this event is arguably the most anticipated evening on our calendar and this show is no exception. Artists participating in the Chrysalis Art Program are hard at work building their portfolio and putting the final touches on some unique artwork which will be on display available for purchase. Proceeds from the sale will help benefit the talent artists participating in the Chrysalis Art Program and help re-stock our supplies to ensure that the creative juices will continue to flow throughout the art studio.
Our art program is anxiously awaiting the opportunity to take over the entire program area in our Edmonton facility basement to showcase the talents our artists possess. This year, some 40 plus artists will be showcased throughout the night and we will feature nearly 200 different pieces of art which will include a variety of canvas paintings, Plexiglas artwork, framed photographs and something brand new to the show, handmade clay sculptures. Clay work has become and increasingly popular media over the past 18 months and the results have been outstanding.
The 7th Annual Art Show and Sale presented by Scotiabank will be held on Friday, April 24 at Chrysalis Edmonton, located at 13325 St. Albert Trail, with doors open to the public from 6:00-9:00 pm. We will also be hosting a VIP sneak peek for our donors, volunteers and board members to give our supporters first look at the gallery display. This function will run from 5:15-6:00 pm. No purchases can be made until doors open to the public at 6:00 pm.
If the previous few years are any indication, if you are planning on attending this showcase we suggest you arrive early to ensure you don’t miss out on some of the pieces that will be purchased shortly after the show begins. We will also bring back our silent auction which will feature 5 or 6 premium pieces. The auction will run until doors close at 9:00 pm with the hope that folks who are not able to join us closer to doors opening will still have a chance to take home a spectacular piece. Even those who will not be able to attend the show will still be able to place bids through our Facebook and Twitter pages.
And, as always, should you miss out on anything you really wanted, our artists are happy to discuss a custom piece just for you!
