After a bit of a hiatus, the Chrysalis Partnership Profile is back! For our third installment, we head back to Edmonton to feature a company that has gone out of their way for years to show nothing but love and support to our organization and the individuals whom we serve.

Allwest has been associated with Chrysalis in some way, shape or form for many years now. Mr. George Smith, CEO of Allwest, has gotten to know our organization very well as his grandson accesses Chrysalis programming. This relationship has grown and developed as time has gone by and has become extremely beneficial to Chrysalis and to Mr. Smith and the folks at Allwest. Mr. Smith has always been overwhelmingly supportive of the work being done here at Chrysalis but he took it a step further when he created an employment position at Allwest for a suitable Chrysalis individual. The recruitment process determined that a young man named Charlie Weinzierl was the perfect person to fill the role and was hired to help around the showroom and offices a few days a week. Charlie showed a true passion for his work and quickly became a very valuable part of the Allwest team. 5 years later Charlie is still in love with his job and has no problem telling you how great Mr. Smith and the rest of the people at Allwest have been to him. “Allwest is fortunate to have Charlie on our staff” says Roberta Van Wyk, Vice President of Operations at Allwest, “He has taught us to breathe!”
Not only has Mr. Smith been a staunch supporter of Chrysalis, so many other Allwest employees have taken the time to get to know our organization and have really stood behind the work we do. Each year Allwest fills a table at the Annual Spirit of Chrysalis Gala Fundraising Breakfast. The company has always shown their financial support to Chrysalis but their employees have followed suit as well! We cannot begin to thank Allwest enough for the contributions they have made towards creating a better quality of life for people like Charlie, and the others whom we serve here at Chrysalis.
Because of the support we have received from Allwest, Chrysalis has recognized the company with the Chrysalis Partnership Award which recognizes a volunteer or employment site that has shown a commitment to diversity in the workplace by welcoming and including individuals in the formal and social fabric of their organization. Based on that description, Allwest is certainly deserving of this type of recognition. Allwest was also nominated for a Mayor’s Award as an inclusive employer of individuals with disabilities.
