The 6th Annual Chrysalis Art Show and Sale presented by Scotiabank is just about a week away! Everything is coming together very nicely at the moment and our stock of artwork is looking fantastic! The artists who will have their artwork showcased during the event are buzzing with excitement to show off their talents and creative abilities.
This year, we have decided to introduce a new wrinkle to the Art Show and Sale. In the past, people have lined up 30 minutes before show time top ensure they could get their hands on some of the best pieces in the show. While we still expect some early arrivals, we’ve come up with an idea to allow people who either cannot arrive right at 6:00pm or cannot attend the show at all to still have a chance to snag one of our marquee pieces.
Gonzalo Canales, Art Program Facilitator, has selected 5 paintings that will be placed in a silent auction which will run throughout the event. Guests will have the chance to place their bids on these 5 paintings while they browse the displays and we will also be accepting bids through our facebook and twitter pages from guests who are not able to stay at, or attend, the show.
The 5 painting selected can be viewed in our facebook gallery. The artists featured in the auction include Mark Halfe, Arron To, Kristine Grimson and Charlie Weinzierl. Each painting does have a reserve price to meet, which will be specified at the show. While the show is not until April 25, we will happily accept any early bids on these paintings to get the ball rolling!
